Story Pole is a calculator. It gives you arithmetic and cites where its formulas come from. It does not give you engineering advice, and it does not certify that anything you build will pass inspection.
You are responsible for what you build. Check every figure that matters against the standard, code edition and product data sheet that apply to your job and your jurisdiction. The app names its sources on the Formula sources screen precisely so that you can. Codes are amended locally and revised over time; material yields vary by brand, batch and conditions on site.
Where the app reports against a building code it says which code, and it says that local amendments exist. That is a report, not an approval.
The feet-inch-fraction calculator and the squaring check are free. The other calculators are unlocked by a single purchase through the App Store — one payment, not a subscription, and it does not expire. Purchases, refunds and family sharing are handled by Apple under Apple's terms; refund requests go to Apple, not to us.
The app is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from use of it, including wasted material, rework or rejected work. If your local law does not permit excluding liability, the limits above apply only as far as that law allows.
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them.
